“THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE THE LORD HAS ANOINTED ME TO BRING GOOD NEWS TO THE POOR;
HE HAS SENT ME TO BIND UP THE BROKENHEARTED, TO PROCLAIM LIBERTY TO THE CAPTIVES,
AND THE OPENING OF THE PRISON TO THOSE WHO ARE BOUND.” ISAIAH 61:1

Our Mission
The Well is a non-profit Christian organization committed to walking with women toward freedom through mentoring, connection with resources, and supportive education in the surrounding Minneapolis/St.Paul area. So whether she is in an abusive relationship, experiencing an unplanned pregnancy, feeling trapped, depressed, is wearing thin as a single mom, or struggling with self-harm, we are here for her.
Our Story
I love how God calls our name out on the water with Him; to join with him in the miracle of seeing the impossible become a reality! That's exactly where The Well was birthed out of. God had put a burden on my heart, a burden to see women living free and whole. Families set free from the generational cycles of poverty and abuse, and communities transformed by the power of Jesus.
When I started The Well in 2013 my family was going through it's own crisis, and it felt like the worst time to start a nonprofit. My husband had lost his job, we became homeless, I was pregnant with our third baby, and depression and anxiety took up residence in our family.
This was the perfect recipe to step out and trust God as I was desperate to see Him move and bring wholeness to our family as well. God brought some other ladies with a shared passion and The Well started to take shape. We were given space to use for free so we could start mentoring women in Le Sueur MN, we knocked on doors, connected with churches, trained volunteers, and started loving on women and their kiddos. God was moving!! We have been able to help women move out of abusive situations, get to treatment, help with diapers and formula, offer support and friendship through pregnancy and birth, find jobs and housing, get clothes for interviews, and most importantly when their hope is lacking we have been able to show them love and introduce them to the one that brings a hope that the world will never give.
After praying for years to be able serve more women in the cities God has opened a door to come up to Golden Valley! Our story is still being written as are the stories of all the women we get to love on. If you would like to learn more about how you can get involved go check out our website!
