The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners Isaiah 61:1
I love story telling. I love a good movie or a great biography. We all have a story to tell, and it's that story being written that I believe can help bring hope and freedom into the lives of those that encounter our story. My story a beautiful mess of God's pursuit and His love.
I grew up in a home where my parents showed me what it looked like to pray fervently and serve graciously. I am so thankful for the foundation that my parents laid in my life. With out that I am sure I would have fallen farther and harder in the course of my journey. As I wrestled through my faith as a teenager, having walked with friends who attempted suicide, struggled with eating disorders, and depression Jesus truly had to became the foundation of my existence and the main character in my story. At a young age it was evident that God created me to come alongside people that were struggling and offer them hope.
God has invited me to walk out into impossible situations with Him and in learning to trust Him in the impossibilities I have been able to see miracles happen in my life and lives of those he has asked me to love on. My family has chosen a different road to walk and its' been hard...really hard. But I wouldn't have chosen a different path, because as we walk what seems to be an impossible road God has been faithful to take our hand and rescue us every time we are about to walk off the edge. We have seen him rescue my husband from the pit of despair, He has brought me freedom from rejection, failure, anxiety, and people pleasing. He has provided for our needs when we haven't had money for groceries. He has healed my sick babies, he has provided homes when we didn't know where to go, he has given us work when the world took it away from us, He has given me vision and strength to start The Well where we mentor women to freedom.
So here we all are right? Living this crazy life as a testimony of God's faithfulness. What impossible situation has God invited you into? What boat has he brought you out of? And do you believe he will grab you when you start to fall?
