When I got pregnant with Mary I asked the Lord what His plan was for her...It seemed like strange timing...we had just sent Max off to school and it felt like the seasons were shifting. We were planning on starting a new business and were coming out of a grueling couple of years of complete dependency and walking on water moments with Jesus (not fun to the flesh, but truly the life I want to live in the spirit...if that makes sense). So to get pregnant now seemed hard...but I was friends with hard...we had been companions for many years. What I came to learn about letting "hard" sit at the table of my life was that it taught me how to pray, how to keep my eyes on Jesus, and to trust that He will bring me through.
So as I prayed about God's plan for this little one's life, God reminded me of some big prayers I had prayed. Prayers that He would use our family to shift culture, to be a catalyst for revival, to bring the hope of Jesus to the nations, and to raise up kids that would be able to stand up for the truth even when it's not the popular option. Mary was actually an answer to these prayers, she was the piece of the puzzle of the family God is building to be those that will shift the culture and bring hope to the hopeless. I love this sign that Jenessa Wait created (go check out her art...truly ANNOINTED!) ..."Revival starts with family" So this is my prayer in this season. That Revival would start in our family and in turn reach the world. So in making this a focus of 2021, I need to quiet the world and it's opinions and really strive to seek God's face and his truth. Because that's the only way revival will truly start in my home. I will be hopefully keeping up my blog here more frequently so don't be a stranger! Till next time, Laura

This family....I don't have enough words to convey how amazing they are! They are long time friends that I have have been able to capture a number of times over the years from their wedding to babies, and now their whole family! Brandy and I have been friends since highschool and now she is on my board at The Well. I just have been so blessed by their kindness, generosity, and trust. Plus they are just so beautiful aren't they!?
Enjoy these beautiful golden hour fall photos as it is finally getting cold now in MN and we are all hunkered down in our homes with the fire place lit and slippers attached to our feet. This post is long overdue and so anticipated!! I was so honored to have captured my dear friend and partner in crime Abby's new bundle of cuteness Rolland! We met at the park the other day, and this little guy is the happiest, most smiley kiddo. Pure Joy flows from this child! I know that as he grows he will be a carrier of joy to those he comes in contact with. What a great world changing attribute to "be". Jesus may your joy be Rollands strength as he grows into Man. Lord with joy as Rollands weapon against the enemy we know he will be more than a conqueror. Thank you Jesus for this little life, and the plans purposes you have in store for him! Miss Louisa means "Renowned Warrior"! What a beautiful legacy that she has been predestined to leave. I knew the moment I set my eyes on this precious warrior girl that our hearts beat the same beat. So many desperate aching prayers were prayed for this girl, as her parents waited for the lord to knit her together in her mama's womb. And now she's here and we stand in awe of the gift she is. We give Jesus all the glory for this precious warrior, and can't wait to see the woman that she will be come. There is a sign hanging in her nursery that depicts so clearly the passionate prayers over this little girl..... I AM the daughter of the king, who is not moved by the world. For my God is with me, and goes before me. I do not fear because I am HIS. Yes sweet girl, you are HIS!!
"She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins." Matthew 1:21 The joy of a babe growing inside of you is one of the most wonderful gifts a woman can experience. Something we have been longing and praying for for my sister. So as we anticipate the arrival of a king baby it feels like there is an extra amount of anticipation and thankfulness as the babe inside Joanna's womb grows.
The world was longing and groaning for a savior; someone to rescue and protect them. A king that would come in pomp and circumstance and destroy all their enemies so that they could live in safety and freedom, but their miracle king defied all their expectations. He came as a baby, born in a humble stable with sheep and shepherds as his first guests. How could a baby destroy all our enemies so that we could live in freedom? Because that baby in all his wonder and humility would grow to be a man who would die in our place and become king of our hearts. This is why we worship this humble babe this christmas. So I stand amazed at the reflection of God's mercy and grace in the babe growing inside my sisters belly. May this little one know the baby king that gave him life and came to rescue and free his soul. We have so much to celebrate!! I grew up on the bow of a sailboat with my dad at the helm. I like to think that sailing is in my blood, and it's gotten passed down to my kiddos. We love to be on the water, it's that place that feels more like home than the land does. Every year we pack up the campers, teddy bears, and lifejackets and head to Bayfield WI for a week of sailboat races, campfires, and lots of laughs. It's our yearly home away from home. And just like Enya sings... "Carry me on the waves to the lands I've never been, Carry me on the waves to the lands I've never seen. We can sail, we can sail with the Orinoco Flow, |
